Justin Baldoni and Wife Unplug From ‘Every Day Drama’ in Hawaii

Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, took some much-needed R&R amid his ongoing lawsuit and drama with Blake Lively.

“Justin and Emily’s trip with their kids and close friends has been planned for a while,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly adding that the couple “have always considered Maui a very happy place for them.”

Justin and Emily, both 40, were spotted on a family vacation with their children in Hawaii over the weekend. The director was photographed enjoying the beach as he played in the waves with his and Emily’s daughter Maiya, 9, and son Maxwell, 7.

While the getaway was planned long before the recent lawsuit Baldoni’s studio, Wayfarer, filed against Lively, 37, it seemingly came at a perfect time.

“Justin and Emily are looking forward to get away from the every day drama and to spend some time with their kids and friends,” the insider explains. “Justin has been working nonstop and wanted to reconnect with what’s important to him, his family and friends.”

On Thursday, January 16, Wayfarer filed a lawsuit for $400 million in damages against Lively, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane. The paperwork included accusations of civil extortion, defamation, false light invasion of privacy and other claims.

After news broke of the lawsuit, Justin’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, shared in a statement to Us, “This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media.”

The following day, Baldoni publicly spoke out while he and his family were at the Los Angeles International Airport.

“We’re grateful to be with the family, man,” Justin told photographers on Friday, January 17. “We have amazing friends and family and faith.”

Justin and Lively worked together on the film adaptation of It Ends With Us. Rumors swirled that there was tension between the pair on set as Justin and Lively did not interact during the movie’s press tour. In December 2024, Lively filed paperwork in accusing Justin of sexual harassment, creating a “hostile work environment” and causing her “severe emotional distress” while working together.

“I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted,” Lively said in a statement to The New York Times at the time.

Justin vehemently denied the allegations. His legal team called Lively’s claims “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious.” Bryan Freedman alleged in a statement to Us Weekly that the actress filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” regarding the production of It Ends With Us.
