Us can hardly believe it’s been 20 years since MTV’s seminal classic Laguna Beach debuted, and the cast is celebrating at their official reunion.

“We had so much fun celebrating our 20-year (!!!) high school reunion last night,” Lauren Conrad wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, December 1. “Thank you to @hotellagunaweddingsandevents for hosting us!”

She added, “Such a beautiful night!”

Conrad, 38, offered further glimpses of her cocktail — brandished with a decorative honeycomb — and photos from the event. She dressed casually in a beige peacoat, black T-shirt and jeans, clipping a “Lauren Tell (Conrad)” name tag to her lapel. The pin featured her class photo from back in the day.

One year after the success of Fox’s The O.C., MTV took a look at the actual town, launching Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County in 2004. The reality show focused on the personal lives of then-high schoolers Stephen Colletti, Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth and more. Laguna Beach was originally set to be a […]

Conrad, who is married to William Tell, also reunited with Trey Phillips and Dieter Schmitz during the beachfront bash.

Conrad and her peers graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 2004. Their academic tenure was chronicled on MTV’s docuseries of the same name, starring alongside Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, Stephen Colletti and more.

The popularity of Laguna Beach spawned spinoffs titled The Hills and The City about the leads’ respective collegiate and postgrad lives. The cast all stayed in touch despite going their separate ways.

“They’re all my best friends still,” Laguna Beach’s Alex Murrel exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2022. “People think it’s crazy that you actually keep friends from high school. And I think it’s a really beautiful thing because it was such a small town that we are still all in touch. Jason [Wahler] just moved, but before he moved, I’d see him and his wife all the time.”

Murrel added, “If we all got in a room together, it would be as if no time passed. That’s kind of the exciting part about [the show] all coming back to [Netflix]. Even though we don’t talk every day, it’s, like, no time passed [when we do]. … I just feel like it would be really fun to all be together.”

Lauren Olsen, who went by Alex H. on Laguna Beach, noted to Us that she primarily keeps up with her former classmates via social media.

“I live in Santa Cruz now, so I’m not in Laguna anymore,” Olsen said at the time. “But I mean, if I were to see someone in passing or be in a group setting, it would just be nothing but love and hugs and memories.”

The next year, Cavallari, 37, echoed their sentiments during a January 2023 episode of her and Colletti’s “Back to the Beach” rewatch podcast.

“We’ve always been in each other’s corners, always been rooting for each other,” Cavallari stated. “We’ve always really cared about each other, which I think is important.”
