Jamie Otis gave Us an inside look at her baby twins’ new nursery.

“We have two kids already, so we know the mayhem that comes with a baby — expecting twins this time, I knew we had better be prepared for them,” Otis, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, October 25. “We fully anticipate it’s going to get a bit chaotic from time to time with two newborns, so I wanted a very calm and serene space for their nursery.”

Otis decorated the nursery herself. While she picked out each item for the babies’ room, husband Doug Hehner was tasked with “assembling all the furniture.” Since the twins arrived four weeks early, the nursery wasn’t complete until weeks later.

“We didn’t have the final touches on their nursery by the time they were born,” she explained. “But we just finished it and it’s my favorite room in our whole house now!”

Otis and Hehner welcomed twins Hawkins and Huxley in September. Otis announced the little ones’ births on social media and revealed that the babies “instantly held hands.”

Hawkins arrived first, with Huxley following shortly after. Otis shared that Huxley was a breech birth, as the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, but the newborn was healthy and doing fine.

“This still feels like a dream,” Otis shared via her social media, adding that she’ll “share more when I have time later.”

Otis and Hehner met and tied the knot in March 2014 during the first season of Married at First Sight. In addition to Hawkins and Huxley, the couple also share daughter Henley and son Hendrix whom they welcomed in August 2017 and May 2020, respectively.

Otis revealed she was pregnant with the twins in February.

“I’M FINALLY PREGNANT!!! 🙏🤰🥳,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I wanna scream it from the rooftops!!! I can’t thank YOU enough for praying for us! GOD IS GOOD!!! 🙏✨. It’s been over three years of trying. I’ve been diagnosed with secondary infertility, a blocked fallopian tube, MTHFR, hypothyroidism, ‘low-normal’ AMH, advanced maternal age, and I’m probably missing something else that was thrown at us ….. BUT GOD WILL WORK MIRACLES IF YOU BELIEVE! 🙏✨🤰👶.”

Before her recent pregnancy, Otis has been candid about her struggles to conceive in the past. She previously suffered miscarriages in July 2016, September 2018 and January 2019.

“THANK YOU GOD FOR THE BIGGEST BLESSING WE’VE HAD SINCE OUR LAST TWO EARTHLY BABIES! 🙏🤰👶✨,” she continued. “I’m still a bit in shock that we conceived NATURALLY. If you’ve been diagnosed with infertility or secondary infertility my heart BREAKS for you. It’s the worst news ….. but don’t lose hope.”

Otis later shared that she was pregnant with twins, which has always been something she strived for.

“I don’t even believe it. I’m terrified, though,” she reflected in a March vlog. “I’m terrified that a shoe is going to drop. I feel like I’m going to try because this has literally — twins have been a dream of mine.”
